In order to maintain a
successful community, it is necessary to state and enforce a common and fair
set of guidelines by which to operate. These standards are firm, and failure to
comply could result in termination of positions held within The Campus.
It is important within any
community to maintain a sense of respect. Because of this, it is expected that
all residents treat each other in a respectful manner. A good quote to test
whether your behavior is respectful or not is to “do unto others as you
would have done unto you.”
Additionally, residents should
be familiar with the Cybertown Constitution and the Unified Ban Policy (UBP).
Like countries in the world,
recruiting is an important aspect of a Colony. Recruiting is certainly
encouraged, however must be done properly so not to upset other colonies.
Recruitment advertisements should not be posted on other Colony or neighborhood
message boards – this has become known as poaching. The Campus does not
condone or allow the act of poaching.
Poaching as defined in The
Campus: when an individual approaches another individual who is currently
employed in another neighborhood or Colony with a job offer or an offer with
some other incentive, without the consent of the individual's current employer,
or without some previous agreement to contact the individual with specific job
openings.

·
Security check requests are to be submitted to the Colony Inbox.
· Each individual may only hold one Colony position, excluding Colony
Secretaries, which is at the CL’s and CD’s discretion.
· Individuals may hold any amount of city jobs, so long as it
doesn’t affect their performance.
· Employers may not request the email address of any person under the
age of 13. It may be given voluntarily, but cannot be a requirement.
·
Exceptions to these requirements can only be made with permission from the
Colony Leader.
· All advertisements from
outside of The Campus will be moved to an off-site Ad Board (linked through the
Colony Message Board).
· All posts must be in compliance with the Constitution and UBP.
· Messages presumed to be poaching will be deleted.
· Job requests will be relocated to the Colony Inbox or directed to the
appropriate person.
· The Colony staff reserves the right to delete any message without
notice.
· All neighborhood MB’s must link to the Colony guidelines (this
document).
· Block management: in
order to open a new block, change the name of a block, or close a block, a
proposal must be sent to the Colony Inbox, after which a Colony official will
reply with either an approval, a rejection with some valid reason, or
suggestions for an amendment to the proposal. The proposal should outline why the
change is necessary, how it would prove beneficial, and how it fits with or
maintains the theme of the neighborhood.
· Hood maps are to be cleared by a member of The Campus Colony Technical
Department (CD or CS) or the CL.
Suggestions
In The Campus, we value input
from all residents. Everyone has
unique ideas, and it is through learning them that a Colony can grow and
evolve. What would you do if you
were running the Colony? Would you
change something? Would you add
something? Much of our success
comes from the collective brainstorming of many people, from all positions in
the Colony (including unemployed!)
We love to hear your suggestions, and encourage you to communicate them
either through a member of the Colony staff, or to the Colony Inbox. While not all suggestions can be
implemented, even those that aren’t help us
shape the Colony so that it suits all residents.
Complaints
Oops! We can’t please everybody all of
the time, but we sure can try. If
you have a complaint about the Colony, the only way we can help you solve it is
if we know about it. If your
complaint is about someone employed within the Colony, it is proper protocol to
follow the chain of command as reflected in this organization chart, and to
contact the individual’s direct superior. Only after attempts to
resolve the issue with the person’s direct supervisor have failed should
you move up the chain of command with your complaint. If your complaint is about a resident
who lives in but is not employed in the Colony, contact the Colony Leader. Be respectful about your complaint
– everyone is human and makes mistakes. Also provide proper evidence and/or
documentation where appropriate (such as chat logs, screenshots, etc).
Comments
Maybe you particularly like
something about The Campus, or want to say something that isn’t a
suggestion of complaint! We love
hearing from our residents about anything at all – your comments ultimately
help us shape the Colony. Always feel
free to drop a line in the Colony Inbox; we check it many times a day!
Please note that different
neighborhoods may make additions to the Colony guidelines. However, the Colony
guidelines supersede all neighborhood guidelines (for example: Colony guidelines
state that an ND’s minimum experience is 800. A neighborhood’s
guidelines may require a higher level of experience, but not a lower level).
